cookie scoop January 6, 2009 Magen Grappendorf When I originally recieved this item it didn't even work. After played around with it for a bit I got it to rotate the scoop. I haven't actually tried it on cookie dough it feels like it will break. It will probably just become a toy for my kids' playdouh. I would NEVER buy one of these again.
Save your cash and buy a higher end scoop January 3, 2009 M. Hunter (Omaha, NE USA) When I saw these at Target for $3, I was thrilled. After buying one and having it break 4 cookies in to a batch, I was mad. I decided to give the brand another chance but the next one broke just as quickly. Save your pennies and just go with a stainless steel scoop. It'll hold up better and you won't find yourself making repairs while you are baking.
Broke on first batch December 10, 2008 I. Sew (Florida) I agree that this scoop is just not meant to last. In my case it broke on the first batch of cookies, the metal part that is meant to loosen the cookie dough became detached from the metal rod. I fixed it only to have it do it again after a few scoops. Way quicker to just use a spoon, don't waste your money on this item.
DUD!!!!! December 8, 2008 Vanessa (South) I purchased this locally and had the same experience as the other 1 star reviewers. It was awkward, uncomfortable and difficult to use. It did not release cookies on the first try. The handle made crackley, creaky sounds and felt like it was coming apart. I'm not a big person, nor was this used excessively. After 1 or 2 small batches of cookies, the metal piece which pushes the cookie out came out of place. This never worked properly and completely fell apart. Simply put, it is a piece of gabage! I used to think Wilton meant quality, but they're churning out junk like so many other companies.
Cheap for a reason December 1, 2008 Theresa S. (CA USA) I had two major problems with this scoop: 1) it would take several squeezes to get the dough out of the scoop. Because this scoop isn't very high quality, it would wear me out and I even had to occasionally manually unsqueeze it because the spring wouldn't work. 2) It broke completely after just a few batches of cookies. Next time I get a cookie scoop, it'll be a high quality one.
