Product Description The RSVP Endurance Oil Mister is the tool to use to minimize the amount of fat in cooking. The oil sprayer allows you to choose your own oil to spray as a fine mist on pans prior to cooking or baking. You can also make herb flavored oil to spray on salads or vegetables for a dressing with less oil and more taste. The unique fine screen filter is designed to prevent clogs by blocking herbs or other seasonings from entering the narrow spray tube. The high-impact plastic bottle allows you to see how much and what kind of oil is inside. Capacity: 3 oz.

Excellent sprayer December 30, 2008 David Robinson (USA) I ordered this mostly to mist air popped popcorn with a little oil so the flavored seasonings would stick to the popcorn. I had to learn not to tilt the bottle over the surface of the bowl, instead "tilt the bowl" and keep the mister verticle. This prevents oil from filling the center resivoir and flooding it (or so the package says something to that effect). The package recommeds an initial pumping of 6-8 times, I do that at first then spray for a few seconds, pump a bit more, spray and continue as needed to keep an even spray, sounds complicated but pretty easy, mostly neccessary when trying to coat a lot of popcorn, otherwise one pumping sequence is fine. One filling has lasted a couple of weeks for doing up popcorn and misting pans for cooking, etc. (2-3 uses a day). The package also recommends releasing pressure between uses. The tip of the suction tube in the bottom of the mister has a filter designed to keep herbs from being sucked up the tube. I have yet to use herbed oil so I can't report on its ability. The mist from the bottle works quite well, maybe not as good as a brand new can of oil from the grocery store, rather one that has been used for a while. Still, it's very acceptable for all my cooking and I feel much better now that I'm not having to throw out a can a month like I was doing. (The recycling in the area does not accept them). The clear plastic is very nice because (obviously) you can see exactly how much oil you have in the container. I recommend not filling it up to the fill line in the beginning so that you can get used to not "tipping" the bottle over and running the risk of flooding. Easy to clean and does not slip in the hand when using.
Good product November 8, 2008 Eric Jacobson (Dallas, TX USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this mister after trying the Norpro (model 790, I think) and not liking it at all. This one, the RSVP, is much better than the Norpro. Looks good, sprays a good, even mist, easy to use, and the pump cap doesn't refuse to sit down on top of the bottle after you've pumped pressure into it (a problem w/ the Norpro). I'm very happy with it.
Good until it broke September 28, 2008 E. Chen (IL USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
It was great for healthy cooking as the amount of oil needed to spray pan surfaces and for baked items was small and very uniform. I always took good care of it, releasing the pressure before storage, not overfilling it, and it never quite spent more than 10 minutes pressurized. It lasted about 6 months. All parts are really of good quality except for the top tip which somehow developed a little hole so now it doesn't hold any pressure. I don't know what i could have done better. I ended up buying another mister from a different manufacturer. To my surprise it was actually the same model, just packaged under a different brand. I was able to figure out that my problem was a small dent on the pump. This was enough to cause air to escape when pumping so no pressure ever built up. I'm now very careful to take good care of this part and am back to happy, healthier cooking.
Handy kitchen gadget June 18, 2008 JLM 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I use this when I'm grilling on the stovetop. It sprays just enough to give me a light, even coat so the fish doesn't stick to the grill. A handy kitchen gadget I would recommend to others.
pump with extreme care March 8, 2008 anonymous (Springfield, VA United States) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I purchased this mister approximately six months ago. It did perform well at first, although it eventually began to emit a stream rather than a mist. I was able to get around this by using a brush to spread the oil around after spraying. However, I took it down the other day to grease some bread pans; after the sixth pump, the entire thing exploded and canola oil went everywhere. What an unbelievable mess that was. It appears that the bottom separated from the cylindrical part of the sprayer; from what I could tell, the bottle is not cast in one piece but is two pieces of lucite cemented together at the base. Seems like a weak point and a design flaw to me. I do like the concept of an oil sprayer and will replace this with the Misto, which appears to be one seamless piece of cast stainless steel. By the way, there are detailed cleaning instructions on the Misto web site which would probably work for this device as well (perhaps that would have solved the problem of the oil streaming).
