Having used other Analon knives in the past, I knew the product would be exceptional, and I was not disappointed. Please note that the set I received did not have black-handled steak knives as pictured, but instead the steak knives were all stainless steel and each knife was one piece - no crevasses for water to seep into, which I found to be a big plus! Also, there is an "extra" slot in the block, in case you want to buy an additional specialty knife. These knives are well made, have great balance, and cut like a dream. Why spend double on the more well-known brands?

I love these knives however I just wanted to point out to anyone else who is thinking of buying these that the set I got a few days ago (Nov 2008) had the stainless steel steak knives without the black coated handle. (This was not a packing mistake either, the product's box clearly says and pictures non-coated steak knives.) The larger knives are all exactly as shown. The knives are still awesome and work great, I'm just a little disappointed that the set doesn't match as perfectly as pictured in the item description.

I bought one of these knives as a single piece (8" chef) and fell in love with the weight and quality, so I bought the full set. I was skeptical at first about the rubber handles and thought for sure they would peel/cut/rip.
They never did and I've had this same set for over four years. I use every single knife in the set, almost weekly, and at least two knives daily (I LOVE to cook). I additionally bought the 7" and 5" santoku knives that match the set. You cant beat the price.
I do take care of them, like you should any knife (hand wash/dry immediately), so that might help the longevity. But the durability is defiantly there.
You'll love them.

I have had wustof trident for years and have loved them. I got these as a gift..they are the best ever. I love the handle it doesn't slide when my hand is wet. Great weight, german steel and great price. I love the santoku that came in the 15 pc. set.

My wife and I bought these as our daughter's and son-in-law's Christmas present this year. They were thrilled, especially since their old knives had been dull for years. The Anolon 15 piece set is a bargain and should last for years with only moderate care. We're impressed.
