Product Description
Sometimes low tech is better, as is the case with the butter crock. This method of keeping butter both fresh and spreadable was developed in France hundreds of years ago and has yet to be improved upon. Pack a stick of softened butter into the "bell" that forms the underside of the lid, partially fill the outer crock with water, replace the lid. When you're ready to serve, just place the lid upside down on the table.

Have used the butter bell and it's the best product for keeping butter fresh without having to refrigerate.

I have two butter bell crocks. They work great. Just pack the butter in, put water in the bottom of the crock and you have soft spreadable butter anytime you want it. The only drawback is unsalted butter will sometimes get moldy. This can be prevented by adding salt to the water in the crock. I would suggest buying two butter bells. This way you can have the second one ready to go when the first one is about to run out.
