5 out of 5 stars Excellent for the Price   December 27, 2008
T. Erwin (WV)
I purchased this item because I needed a bigger skillet for cooking items such as chicken. When I received this skillet the first thing I cooked in it was chicken. I was very impressed with the way it cooked chicken. It also is very easy to clean. I do agree with others when they said it should have the red dot to let you know when its preheated, but I think that is just a minor issue. I look forward to using this skillet more. (and I hate to cook) I am pleased with this purchased, and have bought several more for gifts. The people that received this skillet as a gift was very happy with it as well.

YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR...BAD INSULATED HANDLES AND LID...BE CAREFUL AS THEY GET VERY HOT...EVEN WHEN PAMPERED, THE COATING SCRATCHES POSTE HASTE...I WANTED TO REPLACE MY SIMILAR MODEL THAT I HAD FOR MANY YEARS...DEFINITELY NOT MADE BY THE ORIGINAL COMPANY...ANOTHER DISAPPOINTMENT

5 out of 5 stars Great quality and price   December 12, 2008

This is one of the few deep skillets that I could find that is dishwasher safe and big enough to hold a five-person family one pot meal. The non-stick is great and easy to clean and the glass lid makes it easy to tell when the food is ready.

1 out of 5 stars Good while it lasted - 4 uses!   December 4, 2008
Pigskins (Webster, NY USA)
As others mentioned, this pan is made in China. It's lightweight and not sturdy. However it looked nice upon arrival. After 4 uses, it has warped. It no longer sits flat on the surface (a flat cooktop) and a gentle nick on the handle sends it spinning away. It was used a total of 4 times over 2 weeks. Now to see what T-Fal will do for me. It was not put in the oven or used over high heat or abused in any way.

4 out of 5 stars Works well especially for the price   December 3, 2008
Water Monkey (Santa Clarita, Ca.)
We purchased this 5 quart cooker based on it's size and the fact that it shipped with a lid. This pan has not disappointed us. It is quite large, in fact we had to clear out a special spot in our cabinets for it. Over the last three months it has worked as expected. The non-stick surface is functioning well and we have not had any issues with scratches or sticky food.

I don't miss the red dot that is on most of the T-Fal products mainly because I know how to cook and I know when a pan is at the correct temperature for what I am making.

I would have preferred a metal lid because I am fearful one day I will either drop the glass lid or it will break being banged around in the cabinets. Being able to see what is covered isn't a necessity because I know when my recipes are done. I don't lift the lid except when I am stirring.

If you are like me and prefer buying inexpensive cookware and replacing it more often (every 3-4 years) rather than over paying for expensive equipment and hope it lasts then this is a great pan for you. Granted this doesn't beat a comparably sized cast iron pan, but it is a nice addition when you want a non-stick surface.
