Cheaper than many of the single units you can buy this is quite a value. I bought it for the large mortar & pestle because I smoke meat and make my own rubs and it works wonderfully! the non glazed inside and end of the pestle work excelent for mashing many things. I mainly use it for a paste of garlic, pepper, oil & salt and it does the job.
the mortar is a comfortable size to hold in one hand while using and the curve of the pestle and the curve on the corners on the mortar are a perfect match.
I also like the fact that is is white which makes it easier to see your progress.
highly reccomend to anyone. even if you don't intend to use all of them it's best to have this around and they fit nicley inside each other.

PERFECT SIZE AND GOOD QUALITY. IN ADDITION TO THE COMMON USES OF THESE NICELY SIZED UNITS, TRY CRUSHING VETERINARIAN PRESCRIBED FELINE MEDICATION. JUST ADD THE POWDER TO BUTTER. MOST CATS WILL CONSIDER THE BUTTER A TREAT AND BOTH OF YOU WILL AVOID THE STRESSFUL SCENE USUALLY ASSOCIATED WITH ADMINISTERING PILLS. BE SURE TO KEEP A LID ON THE BUTTER DISH THEREAFTER!

Product arrived as described and made gift recipient very happy. Price was fair including shipping/handling charges. Purchaser was disappointed that item came and appeared to be shipped directly from Target stores, an element of order that was unclear on the sellers part. Could same or better deal have been found by pounding the pavement????

We go through a lot of pill crushers and you simply can't beat this set. I had a broken pestle but Amazon's no-hassle replacement process took care of the problem. It is made in China and it could well use slightly better packaging. Other than that, it was money well spent and a joy to own.
Great bargain December 5, 2007

This set is very nice, and the pestles are proportionate to the mortars. They shipped in a well packed box, no scratches or breaks. I'm giving as a gift, and I'm sure that the receiver will be very pleased.
