5 out of 5 stars Excellent product   February 22, 2008

I really like my new spice carousels. They make everything look so much better and keep the cupboard nice and tidy! An excellent product.

5 out of 5 stars Love 'em   January 30, 2008

I love this product. I have 4 and have had them for probably 5-6 years. I love being able to quickly grab what I need and not mess up a measuring spoon, but having the option to use a measuring spoon if I need to. I keep the spices in alphabetical order so that helps too. I have not had any of the problems the other reviewers mentioned. These stack on top of each other nicely too. Love 'em!

1 out of 5 stars This does not last and has too many problems. CHEAP!   January 6, 2008

This is a great concept but this spice rack has too many problems and is not worth the cost compared to others here on amazon. I purchased 2 last year and stacked them in my cabinet next to my cooktop. What I thought was a great idea turned into a big pain for me.

Pros:

It is stackable or fits under a cabinet saving space for tight kitchens

Cons:

It is plastic and flimsy

It is not air tight and many of the spices harden up over time or get stale.

The dial gets stuck often and even when it doesn't, it does not really give out the required amount it states. Most of the time it is not enough and sometimes it was too much. Someone mentioned here about saving the measuring spoons. Well just pray when you turn this dial, it doesn't pour out too much into your recipe. This happened to me twice. Never used the dial again.

The fine particle spices (cinnamon, garlic powder etc...) tend to leak thru and are all over my cabinet on the bottom spice rack or the stacked rack leaks onto the one below. Messy!

A few of the spices themselves started getting stuck in the base and were very hard to pull out. Overall they weren't ever that easy to pull out but the sticky ones were down right annoying.

The revolver started to click loudy when turning after about 6 months.

If you read the reviews here (even the high star ones) most will say some of what I posted here. I don't understand how these negatives still outweigh any positives of this spice rack. Overall skip a plastic revolving spice rack and get glass jars that are sealed whether it is a revolving one or a stand up counter one. You might need to take out the measuring spoons but I much rather do that then clean up the mess this rack makes and repurchase stale spices and then watch this thing fall apart anyway.

I purchased two of these a few years back and they still work like a gem for me. I have found the 'click dial' to be very accurate. Before purchasing, I borrowed my friends and measured a few spices with measuring spoons and weighed them on my digital scale. I then measured the equivalent amount using the 'dial' and the measurements were exact. I always make sure I tap the container a couple times before measuring, to make sure the 1/4 tsp compartments are filling up as they ought to. Regarding 'freshness'...I'm not picky about whether or not my spices are the freshest they can be...I have other things to worry about.

4 out of 5 stars I HAVE 3!!   February 9, 2007

I must say that I am surprised at some of these reviews but then, everything is relative....I have 3 of these mounted under my kitchen cabinets.....I have had them for 5 years now. Never had a problem with moisture, nor with the spices falling off the carousel when spinning. I do agree tho that the fine spices tend to leave a "dusting" underneath. I like that they are easy to fill and easy to dip my measuring spoons into. I've never been one to turn and click for anything b/c one can never be certain the right amount will come out. I only wish I had gotten them in black.....looking to buy some for my daughter right now.
