The heavy-duty lid locks down during cooking; an inner sealing ring keeps the steam in. In addition to a pop-up pressure indicator and a simple steam release mechanism, there is an overpressure plug that will let off steam if it builds up excessively. Works as good as the expensive stainless steel ones. I can now cook beef (bone in), pork hocks etc. in less than 15 mins. The 8-quart size can serve 8-10 person, I'm very satisfied with my purchase.

We have been using the Presto Pressure cookers for over 50 years and have found them to be as good as they get. The aluminum models are less expensive than stainless steel,cook just as well, and last just as long.
Pressure cooking is simple, safe, and a real time saver. Try it...you'll like it. Just follow the directions.

I purchased this for canning pint jars and smaller and it's perfect for small batches. I've had a Presto stainless steel cooker for over 30 years and it's been wonderful. While the aluminum cooker is more lightweight, so far it's been great and very easy to use.
