Product Description 3pc Round Canister Set
Amazon.com Review For use with any FoodSaver machine that has an accessory port, these three plastic canisters store fruits and vegetables, dry goods like beans and coffee, and baking supplies like flour and sugar and keep them fresh after air has been vacuumed out by the machine. The canisters hold 3/4 quart, 1-1/2 quarts, and 2-1/2 quarts and are dishwasher-safe (though the lids are not). Machines the canisters can be used with include the following: Tilia 00-1400-01 FoodSaver Vac 550 Kit Vacuum Sealing System, Tilia 00-1700-00 FoodSaver Vac 1050 Kit, and Tilia 00-0312-01 FoodSaver Professional II Vacuum Sealing Kit. --Fred Brack

they all cracked at the bottom January 4, 2009 pz (Arlington, TX) FoodSaver 3-Piece Canister Set Except for the smallest one, these developed cracks within the first two weeks of using them. Do not waste your money. They will not hold a vacuum once cracked. On a positive note, I love the wide mouth lid vacuum accessory. The regular mouth lid is much more difficult to make a seal.
Very fragile. December 14, 2008 I. Brightly (New York, NY USA) I bought 6 canisters in 2007 - I've shattered 2 and the remaining 4 have cracks. They still seem to work but I imagine it'll only be a little while before they all stop working. I would not buy these again in the future.
No warranty on cracked jars December 4, 2008 Mari (Garland, TX USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Be aware that the manufacturer does not warranty the cannisters! As a "one-time courtesy" they agreed to replace my small cannister when it developed hairline cracks after a couple of months of use. Love the concept, but the product really needs a re-design. When they work, they are great. Just be warned that the money you spend may be for throw away products.
FoodSaver itself is great, but this product is not November 20, 2008 Boston Book Addict (Boston, Mass.) I have had my FoodSaver itself for over two years now and am quite happy with that purchase. These canisters, however, are another story. While I have not had a problem with cracking I have had a problem with them mantaining a seal. What I often find is that I seal them, according to directions and they seem to have good suction. However, a day later I will pull a canister out of the cabinet or off the counter only to find the cover comes off immediately. Initially I thought the problem was that other items were falling onto the button that releases the suction, but I have had this problem even when there is no possibility something could have fallen on or bumped these containers. Additionally, the fact that you cannot stick them in the freezer or microwave limits their usefulness, but does it really matter if they don't maintain their seal? It's too bad they haven't fixed this product issue because these are a great, handy idea in theory, they just don't work in real life.
Reliability is the issue November 17, 2008 Oddworlder (Santa Cruz, CA) I bought 3 sets and two lids wouldn't keep sealed until I realized that after pumping you should release the pump"s handle before detaching the tube don't relase the tube from the top of the canister first. Now I have one lid that doesn't work. I thought these were Microwave safe and believe me they are NOT! So I've not lost a small canister. Now I have an extra lid and canister (MED). Anyone have the oposite?
