Amazon.com Review Functional as well as beautiful, this 3-quart saucepan is made of heavy 18/10 stainless steel polished to a mirror finish. The pan has an aluminum core in its base to spread heat quickly and evenly. The core is completely clad in stainless steel so, like the rest of the pan, the bottom resists corrosion and discoloring and cleans up easily. Thick rolled rims add durability and make it possible to pour from the pan without dripping. Because the pan comes with a domed lid that self-bastes foods it can be used for reheating a portion or two of cassoulet or macaroni and cheese on the stovetop or in the oven without drying it out. (The handles are oven-safe to 350 degrees F and stay cool on the stovetop.) The pan is dishwasher-safe and comes with a lifetime warranty against defects. --Fred Brack

Great pot - bad handle July 8, 2008 A. Elias (Brooklyn, NY USA) I loved this saucepan and used it happily for many years. It felt like it would last forever - really terrific quality! But then the handle, which is only affixed by one screw, started getting loose; the insert into which it screwed became stripped; and then some nut on the inside, which is what the screw fastened into, became loose. The handle fell off, and it can't be fixed. What a crummy end for an otherwise great pot! It's made me quite leery of buying any other Faberware products.
cooking pleasure February 11, 2008 DonLin (New York) This is a beautiful saucepan, shiny and heavy duty. The handle is at a good angle and the knob on the lid is nice and high so you don't get burned. Would order again in other sizes if the need arises.
Nice pot! January 3, 2008 Thomas R. Lafleur (NH) They are now making the bottom out of stainless steel now. I think I like it better than the old aluminum ones. nice pot!
Classic styling, still matches, durable, great product December 26, 2007 Paul Eckler (princeton jct, nj United States) My set of Farberware cookware is from about 1970. My cooking needs increased. So expanding the set was a logical choice. That from the 70s has a few scratches and the Bakelite handles are not as shiney (probably from washing in the dishwasher with strongly alkaline detergent), but they are still good looking, and very functional. The stainless steel is easy to clean, and the bottom aluminum cladding gives even heating. Great product. It was great to learn they are still being made. And the new ones still match the originals. The bottom imprint is a bit different, but basically conveys the same information. The only change I noted is that the new ones are nestable. That means they take up less space in storage, but it also means each pot has its own sized lid. So now finding the right lid for each pot gets to be a bit more challenging. Still the long service life of Farberware makes it an excellent investment. A set will last your entire cooking career.
leaky pot syndrome July 11, 2007 Arthur C. Anderson (LHC, AZ) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've had this pan for 16 months now. Only used it 8 or 9 times. no problems. All of a sudden it develops a hole in the bottom. Now it's useless.Still looks new,but useless.Pan sucks.
